Book Description

This short format self-help book is appropriate for young and old alike. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to create or recapture their good mood in the morning before leaving the house, or at night before going to sleep. Some readers keep my book in their car for a quick attitude adjustment in the midst of a traffic jam while others carry it in their purse or briefcase for those moments when they might catch a slow line at the bank or in a store.

Because this is the kind of book one can pick and put down because each page offers a different thought, it ends up on night stands next to the bed as well as in the bathroom where it can be grabbed for a quick pick me up. This book is proof that you don’t need to write a tome to reach people’s hearts, stimulate their minds, or reinforce what they’re doing right. Upbeat, inspirational, and thought provoking, Stick to It! makes a fine gift even for non readers, because of its brevity, clarity, and simplicity.

Appropriate audiences for STICK TO IT! would include teens, young adults, and busy people who don’t have much time to read but like to stay positive and motivated. Its light-hearted message appeals to readers of all ages and stages of life.

A Personal Note From Leslie About STICK TO IT!

STICK TO IT!, subtitled “The power of positive persistence” was my first book and what a thrill it was, after fourteen years of dreaming about being an author to have a book in print! The first edition was plain in design and humble looking, but I was proud of my work, and the enthusiasm I felt for the topics came through in the content.

Perhaps one of the most fun aspects of writing STICK TO IT! was creating my own quotations, a practice I continue to this day. Many readers have made little signs of the one-liners to post in their offices or on their
refrigerators. Others use the quotations in company newsletters to help keep employees positive and motivated.

One woman forgot her copy of my book while visiting her son, who was going through an extremely difficult period in his life. The next time they talked, she said his attitude had transformed. Apparently, STICK TO IT! had been in the right place at the right time. After telling me the good news, this woman then said, “Thank you for giving me back my son.” Who would think that my little book would have such an impact! At that moment I knew I would write again.
